I’m Matt, and this is Dawson’s Woodcraft.

I started making furniture primarily because for the last 30 years, I’ve been watching and learning from my Dad, a lifetime carpenter. I couldn't find the table and chairs for my first house I really wanted. I had a clear idea of the exact look. It had to be made from solid wood. It would need to be crafted to last and it needed to look like it had a story to tell. I wanted it to have character and provide a real focus to a room. I went over my plans with my Dad, found some great timber and got to work.

I handpick sections of lumber which embrace the natural grain and character of the wood to give each piece of furniture or chopping board it's own personality. I want to make sure that you have something which truly reflects what you want in your home, not something you have because that’s the only choice. It should be something that you can really enjoy showing to friends and family...and something you love to use. It should also be something you want to keep and make last. If I make something that you want to pass down, I couldn’t ask for more than that of my work.
